About GIO Foundation

Giovanni Zappitelli, was a shining example of kindness, generosity, and gratitude. Full of life, high energy, and always wearing a smile, Gio lit up every room he entered. A trendsetter with his stylish hats, Gio loved collecting Hot Wheels, dancing to music, and exploring the outdoors—especially by creeks and water. He adored his baby twin sisters, lovingly calling them “his babies,” and was a wonderful big brother. Gio’s wild streak and playful spirit kept everyone laughing, but his heart was always filled with love. He often reminded his dad how handsome he was and told his mom she was “the best mommy in the whole world.”

Even at a young age, Gio showed remarkable independence, helping with chores, taking care of his belongings, and using his own money to buy thoughtful gifts for loved ones. He loved giving, whether it was donating his toys, helping the homeless, or crafting heartfelt gifts, and treated everyone with respect and gratitude. Gio’s old soul shined through in his ability to connect with others and his deep appreciation for life’s simple joys, like listening to bedtime stories, enjoying mini cucumbers, or simply spending time with family.

The GIO Foundation was created to honor Gio’s incredible spirit and values. Our mission is to teach children independence, gratitude, and generosity, empowering them to help others and make a difference. By inspiring kids to lead with kindness, creativity, and compassion, we aim to carry on Gio’s legacy and create a brighter, more caring future.

Education and Leadership Development

• GIO University: An online platform that teaches children financial literacy, real-world skills, entrepreneurship, and more.

• Leadership Camps: A transformative experience where kids learn teamwork, problem-solving, resilience, and communication skills through hands-on workshops.

At our Annual Gala, we plan to honor exceptional young leaders with scholarships placed in secure, interest-earning accounts. These funds are designed to grow over time, and when recipients turn 18, they will gain full access to the accumulated amount, enhanced by compound interest.

This approach not only supports their future dreams, whether it is pursuing education, starting a business, or achieving other goals, but also reinforces the financial literacy lessons taught through GIO University. It highlights the power of giving while preparing them to create meaningful and lasting impacts in their lives and communities.
